Imran says ready to apologies if PTI’s role in 9 May riots proved
Imran Khan the former Prime Minister, on Wednesday offered to apologize for the May 9 riots as long as it can be proved by institutions that PTI members were involved in the violent demonstrations.
During his talk with journalists at Adiala Jail Khan said if CCTV footage revealed that PTI workers had invaded government properties and attacked them he would not only apologize but would also banish those members from the party and would ensure their prosecution before the court of law.
Khan has repeatedly detached his party from the protests, claiming that the riots were preplanned to justify a crackdown on his party. The protests, which included attacks on military and public properties, led military and government authorities to charge the rioters under the Army Act.
