US says claims of sharing intel of Mossad agents with Tehran is ‘categorically false’
The US National Security Council on Wednesday denied reports that an American security delegation, intermediated by Oman, secretly travelled to Tehran to exchange information to pacify Iran. “This is categorically false,” a US National Security Council spokesperson said.
According to the report, this delegation was sent to communicate to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei that the Biden-Harris administration was “kept in the dark” by Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the assassinations of Hamas’s Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah’s Fuad Shukr.
The report first originated from a Fox News article, which has now been removed, that referenced a Kuwaiti newspaper Al Jarida, which allegedly claimed to speak to an anonymous source in Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
