CM Maryam offers British firms to invest in digital Punjab
According to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the province has entered an era of digitalization and will soon emerge as a hub for digital innovation.
During her meeting with British High Commissioner, Jane Marriott the chief minister discussed working together in the areas of health, education, and climate change, among other things. Zoe Ware, the British High Commission’s Political Counsellor, was also in attendance along with PML-N President Nawaz Sharif.
Describing the ongoing IT developments in Punjab to the British High Commissioner, Maryam Nawaz said “the project of Nawaz Sharif IT City, Twin Towers in Lahore is accelerated to completion. “While extending an invitation to British businesses Maryam stated “British institutions will be welcomed to establish IT universities,”
The solar panel project in Punjab, which aims to develop renewable energy, was also enlightened to the British High Commissioner. She further, briefed about the Punjab government’s sustainable measures to control environmental pollution. The purpose of the meeting was to improve mutual relations between Pakistan and the UK.
