Joe Biden: Netanyahu not doing enough to secure hostage deal
According to Reuters, Joe Biden has expressed concerns that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not doing enough to finalize a deal for the release of hostages held in Gaza by Hamas. He further told US was close to presenting a final proposal to negotiators working on a hostage and ceasefire agreement before hostages’ tragedy.
When asked if he believed Netanyahu was going far enough to get a hostage agreement, Biden said “No”, not elaborating his comments any further.
When questioned whether he intended to propose a final hostage agreement to all parties this week, Biden answered to reporters, “We’re very close to that.”
In response to a question about whether a deal would succeed, he said, “Hope springs eternal.”
