Terrorists hideouts are not solely Pakistan’s concern: FO
The Foreign Office spokesperson stated on Thursday that Pakistan is not the only country concerned about terrorists hideouts in Afghanistan, as the UN has also drawn attention to their activities in the neighbouring country.
During her weekly press conference, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch responded to a question stating that Pakistan has frequently provided evidences of actions taken by terrorist organizations with in Afghanistan.
She further said this not only Pakistan concern, UN reports have also highlighted the actions of these terrorists.
According to a July UN report, the largest terrorist organization active in Afghanistan is banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which is receiving “operational and logistical support” from Al Qaeda groups as well as the Afghan Taliban.
The report stated the number of TTP fighters were estimated between 6,000 to 6,500.
Speaking about the recently endorsed women’s rights legislation in Afghanistan, Mumtaz stated that Pakistan maintains a consistent stance on women’s right to education.
“Every man and woman have a right to education. Since Pakistan constitution guarantee women rights, we want equal rights for all women,” she added.
