Adeela Khudabaksh, a suspect in an alleged suicide bombing plot, addressed a press conference on Wednesday held by the Balochistan government in Quetta, stating that she was “misled by a few individuals.”

Khudabaksh explained to the media persons that she had been in contact with people who misdirected her while being accompanied by her parents, Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind, and MPA Farah Azeem Shah.

Rind reported that Khudabaksh’s father informed the Turbat district administration on the night of September 16 that his daughter was “missing and her whereabouts were unknown.”

Rind emphasised that due to past incidents, the situation was handled with high priority.

He added that the district and provincial administrations, along with law enforcement agencies, including the Counter-Terrorism Department, worked closely with the family to locate her.

It was later discovered that Khudabaksh, a nurse at the Turbat District Headquarters Hospital, was missing. As the focus was on her safe recovery, her family fully cooperated with the authorities to facilitate this.

Talking with media persons, Khudabaksh shared that she is a Baloch, originally from Turbat and received her early education there. She is a qualified nurse, had completed her training at Bolan Medical College in Quetta.

Khudabaksh revealed that she was misled by individuals who convinced her to plan a suicide attack although her profession is to save lives, . She admitted that she didn’t fully consider the potential consequences, including the loss of lives.

She said she realized her mistake while in the mountains, where she found the conditions harsh and the promises of a new life untrue. She also saw other individuals who had been similarly misled.

Khudabaksh criticized the belief that Baloch women voluntarily carry out suicide attacks, claiming that many are coerced and blackmailed. She expressed gratitude to the Balochistan government for rescuing her and urged others not to be deceived by such manipulators.
