BTS Suga apologises for drunk e-scooter incident
As K-pop group BTS, Suga arrived at a South Korean police station on Friday to be questioned, he publicly apologized for operating an electric scooter while intoxicated. On August 6 authorities discovered Suga resting on the ground next to his e-scooter late at night. His blood alcohol level was far higher than the permitted amount.
Outside the police station in Seoul’s Yongsan district, Suga bowed before reporters. “I’m sorry, I’m sincerely sorry. I honestly reflect on the fact of how many fans and individuals I have let down. I’ll participate in the investigation with my whole cooperation. Once more, I apologize,” he said as he walked inside the station. When reporters questioned him about the case, he kept silent.
The singer previously had his driver’s license revoked and been fined. Currently, he is serving as a civil worker, as part of his mandated military duty.
According to attorney Cha Hong-soon, Suga might be punished for violating the Road Traffic Act and the type of e-scooter he was driving would determine his penalty.
