Government slams Imran Khan for dragging army into politics

Former imprisoned Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement offering negotiatory talks to the military has drawn a negative reaction from the ruling government, who slammed the PTI founder for dragging the army into politics.

During a press conference in Islamabad today, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar state Khan who is now seeking dialogues with the military had previously criticised the institution for staying away from political affairs, comparing “neutral” to “animal”.

“You are a security risk for the country as your people say that there is no Pakistan without the PTI founder,” Tarar said believing PTI is a terrorist organization not suitable for Pakistan and a major hinderance in its development.

Similarly, PML-N leader and Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb also questioned what the PTI leader wanted to discuss in military dialogue slamming his previous stance of “I will not seek pardon”. Aurangzeb asked Khan to issue an apology to the military for the May 9 riots for “attacking GHQ, martyrs’ monuments, corps commander’s house and airbase, instead of demanding talks”.
