Imran admits to direct ‘peaceful protest’ outside GHQ if arrested

Former jailed Prime Minister Imran Khan clarified that he had called his party to hold a peaceful protest outside the General Headquarters (GHQ) during an informal conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail on Monday. However, he states that his part was not involved in any violence and termed it as ‘pre-planned’.

This move comes after his last week similar statement was interpreted by his opponents as an admission of guilt. The PTI founder said, “My statement about the protest outside the GHQ was highlighted in a manner as if I confessed to committing a crime on May 9. I made three Vlogs and mentioned it 12 times in police investigations.”

He declared that he possessed evidence in his hold that there was a plan to kill him outside the Judicial Complex on March 18, “I instructed the party to hold a peaceful protest outside GHQ and cantonments if the army and Rangers arrested me”. When asked about violence on May 9 “. The protest wasn’t peaceful because it was pre-planned and our people were in it. The CCTV footage is not being released as it will prove our innocence.” He proclaimed his intention to go to court over the missing CCTV footage and to file a case against the Rangers for his alleged abduction from the High Court premises.
