MQM-P threatens to quit coalition govt over ‘unilateral decision’ on Sindh governor
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has said that it will not remain part of the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led coalition government if any decision is made regarding the governorship of Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori.
“The Sindh governor belongs to the MQM-P. It was decided with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) that Tessori would remain the governor,” senior MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar said.
This warning from the Karachi-based party comes after sources revealed last week that the federal government, led by PML-N has come to an agreement with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), to replace Tessori with Bashir Memon, PML-N leader and ex-Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
