Pak-Eng Test series likely to be relocated to UAE, Sri Lanka
An uncertainty is surrounding the next test series between Pakistan and England as under-construction cricket stadiums raises the possibility of shifting the matches from to the United Arab Emirates or Sri Lanka.
Ongoing matches are part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023–25. First Test of the series is set to take place in Multan from October 7 to 11. The second Test will be held in Karachi from October 15 to 19, while the third Test will take place in Rawalpindi from October 24 to 28.
Construction in Rawalpindi stadium, similar to Lahore and Karachi, causes a number of difficulties for Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as it gets ready for the much-awaited Champions Trophy, 2025.
The preparation of the stadiums for the next major event would be negatively impacted if the construction is put on hold to accommodate the series. Furthermore, the anticipated entrance of England’s Barmy Army fan club presents another logistical challenge as it is not possible to host games without attendance.

In light of these problems, PCB is looking at other venues. The UAE is first choice; however it has schedule issues cause of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, which will be held between October 3 and October 20 in Dubai and Sharjah, which overlaps with the Pakistan-England series.
The only possible UAE location is Abu Dhabi. Therefore, PCB officials are also considering Sri Lanka as a potential host. Following negotiations with the England Cricket Board (ECB), a final decision will be taken in the upcoming days.
