Paralympics 2024: Haider Ali wins Bronze Medal

In the Men’s Discus Throw F37 final on Friday, Pakistani para-athlete Haider Ali recorded a throw of 52.54 meters on his sixth and final attempt, earning a bronze medal.

Haider Ali bagged fourth Paralympic medal of his career. He made a 52.28-meter throw on his first try and missed on his following four attempts.

Tolibboy Yuldashev of Uzbekistan, jumped to the top spot with a throw of 53.48 meters on his fourth try and improved his position with a throw of 56.03 meters on his fifth try. He won a gold medal with a throw of 57.28 meters on his sixth try.

The silver medal was won by Canadian Jesse Zesseu, who threw 53.24 meters.

Haider Ali is competing in the Paralympics for the fifth time. At the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, Haider won a gold medal in discus throw with an impressive throw of 55.26 meters.

He had also previously participated in the long jump and won a silver in the 2008 Beijing Paralympics as well as a bronze medal in the 2016 Rio Paralympics. However, he was not able to participate in the 2012 London Paralympics due to injury.
