On Wednesday, the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Disciplinary Committee issued a life ban to 22 former officials, including Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah, Amir Dogar and Sardar Naved Haider along with other key players. The bans were imposed due to their roles in organizing a hostile takeover of the PFF offices and creating a rival association.

According to the committee, the ruling was given following a thorough investigation of the issue, and it was concluded that the individuals had violated Article 70 of the PFF Constitution.

The committee said the actions of banned officials were considered harmful to the unity and governance of football in the country. As a result, these officials have been declared persona non grata and prohibited for a lifetime from engaging in any football-related activities.

The committee also reviewed the actions of individuals who were associated with the alleged attack on the PFF House and the takeover of PFF facilities on March 27, 2021, which caused Pakistan’s expulsion from FIFA.

Individuals found guilty including Sardar Naveed Haider, Muhammad Naveed Akram, and Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah have been lifetime banned from any football-related activity. Moreover, the committee issued a verdict demanding the return of organization assets stating that they have seven days to return all PFF properties, including official cars, otherwise, they have to face criminal trial.

The PFF has directed all the departments to implement the ruling and warned that anyone who tries to form ties with the banned members will face harsh punishment. Furthermore, the PFF Secretariat has been assigned with the duty to immediately inform this decision to FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
