PM says will announce five-year economic plan soon

On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the country is facing economic complications and the government will soon unveil a five-year domestic economic plan to deal with this situation.

At the inauguration ceremony of the Buna-Raast connectivity project in Islamabad, the prime minister announced, the ‘Home-Grown Economic Program’, saying the program will boost the country’s economy by uplifting agriculture, information technology, and other untapped sectors.

He said broad parameters for the program were finalized after months of discussion with the stakeholder. “Great effort had been put into it. By next week or so, I will announce what the five-year plan is to the people” he said.

PM Sharif highlighted the difficulties related to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the electricity sector. He said he is personally keeping an eye on the FBR’s digitization and anticipates optimistic outcomes from the power sector’s reforms.

He remarked, “No magic wand exists in reality; life is all about blood, sweat, and sacrifices. One day we will reap the rewards of our handwork and secure our position among the developed nations.”
