Three soldiers martyred in Khyber attack

In a series of militant attacks on several security posts in Khyber district, at least three security personnel lost their lives and a dozen others were injured early Friday morning.

The military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed the martyrdom of three soldiers, said that four militants were also killed. The assaults occurred as security forces attempted to intercept militants crossing into the Rajgal Valley from Afghanistan.

Sources stated this was the first time banned Gul Bahadur group and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) expanded their activities beyond their usual strongholds in Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Karak to the Khyber district and jointly carried out attacks occurred in the region.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday condemned the attack on security forces and expressed their condolences over the loss.
